November Writing Update

On Saturday I attended the monthly writing group. I have to confess, I was nervous about comments I might receive about my short story, Strike. However, I was pleasantly surprised that all comments were very positive and supportive. I had been hoping for constructive criticism; suggestions on how to improve my work before approaching literary magazines. I recently had the novel accepted by Kerouac’s Dog magazine, but have not been able to get hold of them and it appears they may no longer be running. So I find myself back to the drawing board. The group suggested other magazines I might try, so I am grateful for that.

I have also begun the Nanowrimo poject - National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write 50000 words in a month. This has given me a deadline; a focus. I have signed up, but so far have not got very far so we will see how that goes.

I have also begun editing my novel following the editor’s advice. So progress is being made slowly! Happy November.
